Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends of WIS,

This week, we saw our students participating in the school’s first WIS Masterchef competition. Students went through several rounds which eventually led to a winning pair: Year 7 students Ines Chiu and Celeste Dechy.

The next stage is the ESF wide competition at Sha Tin College where Ines and Celeste will pit their culinary skills against other teams. Congratulations to all who took part and many thanks to Ms Helen Revans for leading this new venture and giving this great opportunity to our students. We wish Ines and Celeste the best of luck for the next stage of the competition.

It was also our annual Reading Week with students and staff coming to school dressed as a character from a book. The staff out did themselves with amazing themes that included the English Faculty as characters from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the office staff as characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. The week also has some other elements of fun including a Dynasty ‘Weakest Link’ competition where I get the chance to interrogate students on their English knowledge and skills as the character of Ann Robinson from the popular TV quiz show. My thanks to the English faculty for hosting this event with the support of the library staff.

A reminder that on Monday we have a school CPD day where we will focus on some elements of curriculum development, teaching and learning practices. School will be closed to students except for examinations.

Yours,
Jane
