Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends of WIS,

A big moment for Year 13 today as the final IB exam has come and gone. We are really pleased with how the year group have approached this final stage and look forward to the formal next week – time to celebrate.

Congratulations to Aurelien Toucas, William Tian and James Laing for their participation in the ESF Chef Final. Placed as runners up, the food was an incredible standard and we have plenty to work towards for next year. This is the second year that James has competed in the final and his dished are notes by professional chefs of the highest standing. Another moment to celebrate in the achievement of Harshul Singh who has been awarded the Kiwanis Community Service Award and Cindy Yang awarded the American Chamber of Commerce Charitable Foundation prize.

I also wanted to share the art work of Megan Lee below. Exceptional observation and detail has meant her work was recognised this week by the Royal Society of Biology. Well done to you all.

A thank you on behalf of Poppy for all the football boots and sports underwear that has been collected for the Laos Women’s Rugby Team. You might just want to check in with the progress of our own Year 7 Girls Football team who are currently playing in the ISSF league and taking things by storm. Final game to come…

Wishing you a restful weekend to prepare for next week’s learning which will be a bit different for most with exciting and unique events dedicated to Inter-Disciplinary Learning: Tai Chi, Dragon Boating, character strengths and acro yoga to be explored.

Yours,
Christopher Sammons
(Principal)
