WIS Students at 29er US Nationals and World Championships

Three West Island Students will be heading to Los Angeles over the summer holidays to compete at the 29er US Nationals and World Championships at Alamitos Bay Yacht Club for three weeks. Lewis Clark (Year 10) and Dylan Richards (Year 9) will be sailing together, this will be Dylan’s 2nd 29er Worlds and Lewis’ 1st although Lewis competed last year at the Feva Worlds in Spain. Both boys will be hoping to improve on their results from last year.

Karrie Clark, (Year 8) is also competing, she will be the youngest HK Sailor and at the moment the only female competitor from Hong Kong. Although Karrie has competed in Optimist events and the Feva Worlds last year, this will be her first 29er event. Karrie is relishing the challenge and hoping that the incredible amount of work and dedication she has shown over the last six months since she moved out of the Optimist fleet will be displayed in her results.
