Visit by Mike Gatting OBE

West Island School was honoured to welcome Mike Gatting OBE the legendary cricketer and former England cricket captain to its campus this week!

In a Meet & Greet session with the students (and some parents), Mike shared interesting experiences from his cricketing career and also gave advice on how to develop in the game both physically and mentally.

Mike also had a practical session with our young WIS cricketers, where he gave advice on batting and bowling techniques and how to approach the game with the right attitude, whether during training or while playing at a tournament. Mike also reinforced the positives that the students were doing during the practice session, and redirected them from the mistakes.
