Pink Week at WIS: Roaring Success!

This year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Week at WIS was a tremendous success and we are proud to announce that we have almost tripled the funds that were raised last year! The total amount raised through Pink Day, Sponsored Walk and Just Giving Triathlon sponsorship is approximated to be $33,000. All of the money raised this week will be donated to the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation to aid breast cancer prevention, detection, supportive care as well as research and advocacy.

Pink Day Mini Triathlon Results

Thank you to all the students and teachers who got involved. We can confidently say that West Island School was a sea of pink with all students and staff wearing pink and the pink decorations
floating around the school. The bake sale, pink lemonade stall and an Inter-Dynasty triathlon all contributed to the vast success of this years fundraising.

We would also like to recognise the multiple students and parents who amiably took part in the successful pink Sponsored Walk around the peak which was devoted to raising awareness for breast cancer.

A huge thank you to Mr Harding for being an immense help with all the organising and preparations of the week, as it would not have been possible without him.

We also would like to wish good luck to all the teachers who are travelling to Thailand to take part in a triathlon for this prominent cause.

Megan and Victoria

Well done to the following students who were an integral part of the Pink Day success: Megan Wells, Victoria Lawrence, Ryan Wan, Rishab Kombial, the WIS Girl Up Club, all the ‘Bakers’.
