Ethnic Tibetan Dance Event at WIS by New Day NGO

West Island School parents, Mr Chris and Mrs Liza Green currently run an NGO called New Day. The organisation helps women and girls in crisis around Asia and has been a long term supporter of a home for disadvantaged girls in Qinghai Province, which is located on the Tibetan plateau.

Several of the young woman that New Day supports have created an ethnic dance troupe and have performed all over China. These girls will be coming to Hong Kong in October to perform ethnic Tibetan dancing and singing and will be at West Island on Sunday 15 October.

Complete details are attached below and we would encourage the West Island community to show their support for the organisation.

 Dear New Day and Friends

Performance by Seng girls  in Hong Kong – Sunday, 15 October 2017 – join us to welcome them back for the second year!

We are delighted to invite our New Day members and supporters, along with friends and family to a special performance and celebration with girls from the Seng Home in Qinghai province along with the Home’s Founder, DockPo on Sunday, October 15.

We are thrilled to welcome back the girls and DockPo.

The performance will be in the Auditorium theatre at West Island School around 3.30pm-5.00pm and early evening drinks and snacks will be arranged.

Since we last saw them the Opera Troupe has performed across China and their reputation is growing as strong ambassadors for their region.Their performances make a wonderful contribution to helping the Chinese appreciate their ethnic minorities and the culture they share.

We have the privilege of seeing these girls again doing what they love best. They want to show their appreciation to New Day and we would like as many members and supporters as possible to see what a terrific group they are and how your generosity has materially affected these girls futures.Do spread the word as friends are welcome.

Please contact Jane to RSVP as soon as possible so we can get an idea of the numbers attending and make the necessary arrangements.

P. S. We are also collecting warm clothes for them to take back so please hold this in mind if you are clearing out. Jane will coordinate this as before.

We look forward to seeing you on October 15th!

You can learn more about the Seng project here. Please go towww.newdayasia.org or contact Liza  if you would like to learn more or participate more in New Day and Emily if you have any questions about your membership or contributions.
