Colin Mak & Selena Wang Win Merit at Cambridge University Hong Kong and China Affairs Society Essay Competition

Congratulations to Colin Mak (Year 13) and Selena Wang (Year 11) who both entered the Cambridge University Hong Kong and China Affairs Society essay competition and both won a merit each.

Colin wrote his submission on the title: “In light of current challenges, should the new Government of Hong Kong adopt a policy of rest or reform in the coming years?” and Selena wrote on “‘The turbulence experienced by Hong Kong was rooted in the misunderstanding of the Chinese government and its citizens.’ Discuss this statement.”
Following their results, they were invited to a conference last weekend to discuss HK Affairs with their fellow entrants. Colin described the discussions as “complex but very interesting.”
Congratulations to both – remarkable achievement!
