British Council Fair Summary

On Friday 23 September, West Island School was fortunate enough to host the British Council University Fair. The Fair is made up of 40 of the United Kingdom’s top universities. This year, Year 11 and 12 students had the opportunity to spend an hour walking around and talking to university representatives to find out more about their IB and BTEC requirements and course offering. We were able to highlight the particular universities that had courses that interested us and find out the cost of student accommodation along with other details.

As a Year 12 student, I found this extremely helpful as I was able to confirm that I was taking the right subjects for all the possible courses that I am interested in. I was also able to compare different courses, figure out which ones suited me the best and which university grade requirements. I came out understanding so much more about the courses I am interested in and with two summer camp opportunities that can help me with applications to any university.
