WIS Team Place Second at Technovation HK Finals

Congratulations to the West Island School team, Insulife, who won the second prize in the Technovation Hong Kong finals. To start with, 108 Hong Kong teams registered, 39 of those completed the online submissions and 24 of them went on to participate in the Hong Kong Finals on 20 May.
Kamakshi Bhavnani, a team member added, ” It has been one of the toughest competitions we have participated in as you had to come with an idea to achieve one of the 17 UN sustainable global goals; make a working app; create a 4 minute pitch video to explain the idea and the app and finally, pitch in front of an audience. One of the judges remarked that this as good as having 4 competitions in one. The teams had interesting ideas around, health, time and stress management and the environment. One of the highlights of this years competition was that we had 3 teams come from Shenzhen to pitch their ideas. An idea that really stood out to me was an app to learn dissection online so we wouldn’t have to kill so many animals. We would be happy to share our experience with other students in the school, and I would like to thank you for all your support and encouragement through the journey.”
Well done to the team and best of luck to them as they now await global results.
