Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends of WIS,

In this final week, we have said farewell to both students and staff who are off to new shores. Ending well is important because it defines the relationship you have had and helps you return.

For families and young people who receive this newsletter for the last time, thank you for your contribution to the life of our community. We wish you well, we hope the values of WIS remain strong with you and please keep in touch to let us know about your new adventures. For teaching staff, on behalf of young people and the service you have given, thank you. Our whole community is grateful for the effort, time and energy you have given.

I will introduce the new staff to you in an August Friday Bulletin. They are as creative, experienced and inspired to be working in our community. We look forward to their energy and ideas.

A final congratulations to Swimmers of the Month, Eve and Raphael. Equally, our netball squads who made it through to the ISSFHK Netball Finals. The competition was more fierce than previous years and we were very proud to make both finals. Narrowly beaten by the final score, but not by the effort and tenacity you all showed on court and throughout the season. Very well done.

Kyan Tomordy is to be praised for this strategy and commitment to our Inter-Dynasty Investopedia, the first inter-dynasty challenge of it’s kind, Kyan has built a portfolio of $162, 076.65 in our simulation investment game for budding entrepreneurs. Whilst Mrs Chaukria and her team have been treating us to Obsessions with Alice, Alicia Smith has also auditioned and been selected to play the lead role in Alice in Wonderland as a member of Opera Hong Kong Children Chorus. We wish her the very best for her premiere.

Whether you are off to a summer school, a holiday, a competition or staying in Hong Kong, invest in yourselves and your family. Come back refreshed and ready for another exciting year in August. Look forward to seeing you then.

Yours,
Christopher Sammons
