WIS Inter Dynasty Athletics Finals (Sports Day) – Friday 12 January

Dear Parents/Guardians,

WIS Inter Dynasty Athletics Finals (Sports Day)
Friday, 12 January 2018 between 9.00am and 1.30pm
Stanley Ho Sports Centre (HKU), Sha Wan Drive, Pokfulam

On Friday, 12 January from 9.00am to 1.30pm West Island School will be holding the ID Athletics Finals at the University of Hong Kong (HKU).   School will finish at 1.30pm and school buses will collect students from the above venue.

Students in Year 7 to Year 13 will be involved in the athletics and there will be over 1500 opportunities for finalists.

Athletics heats have taken place already and every student has had the chance to take part in up to three events.  Points will then go towards the School Dynasty Shield which is presented annually to the winning Dynasty in June.  Results of all heats are on the Sports Hall notice board and the programme and results can be viewed on the West Island School website.

On 12 January, students should arrive at school and register as usual.  They will then be escorted to the venue in tutor groups.  Students will be permitted to wear their Dynasty colours that day and there will be an opportunity for everyone to ‘run for a point’.

At the event, there will be opportunity for students to visit the tuck shop for drinks.  The PTA will also be supplying hospitality selling hot dogs, pasta bakes plus snacks, nachos, and beverages including coffee, tea and water. Other beverages will need to be purchased from the kiosks on site. Students are, however, also advised to bring some drinks and food for the day.

Students should bring the following:
•    PE kit and sports cap
•    Sun cream
•    Drinks and food

The staff and students welcome the support of parents for all or part of the day.  Please email Mr Miguel Tan (miguel.tan@wis.edu.hk) if you wish to accept this invitation.

I hope it will be an exciting and enjoyable experience for everyone.  If you have any questions regarding your son or daughter’s involvement please do not hesitate to contact me at school.
