WIS EXTRA CURRICULAR SWIMMING COACHING (August – December 2016)

Due to the increasing popularity of swimming within West Island School, from Aug 22 2016 there will be further opportunities to benefit from swim coaching by qualified coaches after school. There will be four swimming sessions: Monday 2.00 – 3.30pm; Tuesday 3.20 – 4.30pm; Thursday 3.20 – 4.30pm; Friday 3.20-4.30. Any student wishing to be part of the WIS Swim Team is expected to attend unless they are receiving alternative regular coaching. There will be flexibility within the structure to cater for other interests and commitments that students may encounter during the term.

If a single session is chosen, the charge will be HK$90 per week and the student will be expected to attend the same session each week. However, if there is an occasion when a student cannot make their session, they will be permitted to attend on another day. Any student who pays the higher fee of HK$150 per week will be able to attend two or more sessions every week. Of course, anyone who wishes to swim on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Friday will enjoy excellent value (4 sessions for $150).

These additional sessions are to meet the demand from swimmers who wish to continue developing technique and health/fitness on a regular basis. Students should be able to swim 50 metres comfortably. If there is an interest from weak and/or non-swimmers for relevant tuition, then it may be arranged. Please contact me directly.

WIS students please sign up on Gateway and parents will be invoiced accordingly. Also, by signing up on Gateway, they are confirming they can swim 50 metres comfortably. The siblings of WIS students and their friends who are in P5 or P6 at Kennedy School or other primary schools may also attend. To register non-WIS students please complete the slip (located here) and return it to Natalie Berry (natalie.berry@wis.edu.hk) for our information & billing purpose.

The timing of the swimming coaching will allow WIS students to swim directly after school and finish in time to make use of the Activities buses that depart from West Island School at 4.40 pm destined for South Horizons and Central. The sessions will start on Monday 22nd Aug 2016 and continue for 14 weeks until 12 Dec. There will be no coaching during public holidays, half-term break and Horizons Week (7-11 November). Students are allowed a make-up session if they miss their session.
