On Wednesday 6 March, six pairs of junior chefs and two senior chefs went head to head to compete in the WIS Chef Semi finals. The junior chefs techniques were put to test while making the ultimate scones with accompaniments and the seniors had to master an individual lemon meringue pie to 5 star hotel/restaurant standard.
In attendance helping us as judges were Ms Emily Clarke and Brett Carter from Australian Masterchef. It was a very difficult decision to choose who got through to the final as so many of the competitors wowed us with their amazing homemade strawberry jams, clotted creams and even a selection of teas to compliment their delicious scones.
Well done to Ella Pheasant and Isobella Roscoe, Zoe Kao and Sin Ying Wun, and Rowan Henderson for their breathtaking efforts in the semi-final round.
The chefs that going into the finals are:
Coleman Chiu (senior)
James Liang (senior)
Gayathri Eyunni and Kamakshi Bhavnani (junior)
Dhruv Deva and Anshul Kumar (junior)
Aurelien Toucas and William Tiang (junior)
Congratulations to everyone who got through and we look forward to the Grand Finale on 20 March!
