Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends of WIS,

Our Cross Country champions have enjoyed amazing success at the HKSSF Cross Country Championships this week. Both male and female teams competed in Division One this year and both teams secured second place. There were some amazing individual times and the number of West Island winners in the top ten for both teams was a standout moment.

Diwali on Tuesday was different this year due to our renovation and seeing so many students dance in so many places across Hong Kong was great fun. As always, students cheered each other along through the night and a big shout out for Mrs Hannaford and Mr Tsang for their ongoing commitment to keep the Diwali show on the road this year.

For more cheer and to help the redevelopment of our swimming pool, we’d love you to join us for the PTA Music and Art Festival on Friday 8 November from 6.30pm. Live bands from Star Search promises to make it a fun evening with food and beverages on offer throughout the night. Click here if you’d like to view and bid for pieces of art that are on auction for this event.

Anne Mason is retiring from the PTA after ten years of service to the school in charge of buses and the annual raffle for all parents. Please read the tributes to her in this month’s edition of the WISLIFE – PTA Newsletter. We wish you well Anne – and thank you.

Happy weekend!

Yours,
Christopher Sammons
(Principal)
