Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends of WIS,

ISF Cambodian Students at WIS

Thank you to three students from the Indochina Starfish Foundation who visited us on Tuesday this week. ESF have partnered this NGO in Cambodia for some time now.  Seavmuoy, Chouer and Panha won an English speaking competition and were hosted in Hong Kong to receive their prize and experience another secondary school. They really enjoyed dance, graphics, making lemon meringues and were particularly impressed by the choice in our dining area at snack time. An absolute delight to welcome these young people and hear from them about their aspirations for the future.

A big congratulations to Years 7-10 swim teams who worked together and achieved overall winner during last week’s HKSSF competition. Five of the eight teams also won individual relays. A reminder that we can celebrate all of this year’s sporting achievements in the School Sports Award 12 June at 4pm – look forward to seeing you there.

Whilst the end of term is fast approaching, I am sure the last day on 28 June is etched on most people’s minds. Whilst we finish at the end of Period 3 to allow anybody time for afternoon flights or other travel arrangements, it is important that parents do not compromise further on these last important weeks of the school year and request an earlier leave date.  I will write with a reminder about starting routines next week.

Enjoy the long weekend.

Yours,
Christopher Sammons
(Principal)
