Meet the 2019-2020 Head Student Team

Please welcome your new 2019-2020 Head Student Team! Don’t forget to say to them around school!

Anthony Aldcroft
I’m Anthony. I can genuinely say I am grateful to be given this opportunity to help our community any way I can. I have a passion for making the most of opportunities, so I enjoy playing ESF Tigers Basketball, swimming for WIS and partaking in service activities, such as Interact Club and Street Sleepers. Since Year 7, I’ve seen the paradigm shift of our view on the environment and as Head Student, I am driven to go above and beyond not just through reducing carbon emissions, but also developing our school’s sense of gratitude and duty as global citizens.

Amanda Nathan
Hi everyone! If you don’t know me already my name is Amanda, one of your new head students for 2019-2020! I’m really excited for all that awaits us head students and really honoured to be in this position actively involved in the happenings of our school community. I want to be a figure that students feel like they can approach and talk to, that during my time you won’t remember me just as a Head Student, but as a friendly face. I am so impressed by the talent and passion of students in our school. A lot has been happening at WIS, but what I’ve noticed the most is the support and encouragement given by everyone in our community. It’s giving encouragement to your friends as the whip up delicious creations in the WIS Chef competitions. It’s cheering on your buddies and giving them highfives when they run up the last hill in ID Biathlon. It’s helping out your classmate and putting your heads together when working on your Bio IAs. The sense of community in WIS is strong, and that is why I am so proud to be part of it and excited to see what comes next.

Natasha Tait
Hi, I’m Tash, and I’m one of West Islands 2019-2020 Head Students. During my time at WIS I have always looked up to the head students, which is why I’m very excited to be a part of this year’s team. Our school’s values are very important to me and, keeping in mind the 5 C’s and core guiding statements of our school, I would like to make a positive impact on our school community. Listening to your feedback through student voice, I’d like to help see changes that we, the students, would like made. There are so many chances to do good through our incredible school, and I’m humbled to have the opportunity to play a small part in this.

Tai Williams
Hey! I’m Tai, and I’m one of West Island’s new Head Students. I’ve been at the school since Year 7, and I’ve seen a lot of changes around the school, but the one thing that’s always remained constant was the presence of Head Students, which is why I’m honoured to now be one. I do quite enjoy sports, and am currently a member of the school’s athletics team and the National Team for Roller Hockey. I’m also enrolled in a couple service activities, like the Circle in the Water committee and Club Scientifica.

Taking the role of Head Student out of the picture for a minute, I enjoy talking to people about pretty much anything, and have a wide variety of interests that can help me connect with almost everyone. This year, I’m looking forward to talking to people about the ways they feel that the school can be improved, and hopefully making some friends along the way. I’m excited that I get to be the voice for students in order to shape the future of our school.
