I’ve joined WIS as an English teacher from West London where I was Head of English in a large secondary school. School-wise, I’m really looking forward to working with my 12/13 tutor group and getting involved in the school productions/plays. Out of school, I’m looking forward to eating lots more Dim Sum(!) and exploring the New Territories.

Before I came to Hong Kong, I was teaching Secondary Mandarin at The International School of Penang (Uplands) for six years. At WIS, I will be teaching Year 7 to Year 13 Chinese classes, I am also the tutor of 7T2.
I would love to learn various teaching technologies which I could then use in my own teaching. I also look forward to joining many workshops. I want to make more life-long friends from all around of the world during my time in Hong Kong.

I have lived in Hong Kong for three years as a freelance drama teacher and performer and have joined WIS as a Year 7 tutor and English and Drama teacher. I look forward to inspiring and to be inspired, I am surrounded by some of the best teachers in the world and enthusiastic students. Every day I will be learning something new just as much as I will also be teaching others. Although I am not new to HK, I still look forward to discovering new skills through outdoor activities. I’m also aware that the newbies will find lots of new places that I will be able to experience too.

I am joining WIS from Exeter in the South West of England, where I was teaching Film & Media at South Devon College and also worked at Exeter Phoenix (a multi-disciplinary arts centre) running the Film Production Resource & Cinema – Studio 74. My role at WIS is teacher of Film & Media Studies and Learning 4 Life, and I am a Year 7 Tutor of Han 1. I am most looking forward to learning about the interesting stories and backgrounds of the diverse students here at WIS and seeing the Dynasty teams compete in ID competitions and festivals. I am new to Hong Kong and I am most looking forward to exploring some of the surrounding islands, mountain trails and treks, both walking and running – hopefully on clear days for some spectacular views.

I was with the Learning Support Class Department in Sha Tin College working as an EA, but I am an ex-WIS student of the 2009 cohort! I’m currently working as an EA with the EAL department. I am looking forward to being part of a small department with new responsibilities and reliving the school from a different perspective!
