Elizabeth Stewart’s stellar performance at the HK International Vocal Open Competition

Fantastic achievements by Year 9 WIS student Elizabeth Stewart who competed at the HK International Music Association’s Vocal Open Competition recently.

Elizabeth won in two groups (under 15 Junior Opera Open Class and the Junior Open Class) and came third in the Pop Open Class (competing against adults). It was a pretty competitive event, with contestants from 15 countries, and over 140 competitors in each of the three groups. Each group had a first round and then a final.

Elizabeth was also invited to sing with one of the judges at the evening awards performance. She also sang one of her winning songs again (Mein Herr Marquis from Die Fledermaus) during the evening function.
