Year 8 Service Day

This year for Year 8 Service Day, students were given the opportunity to learn about the effects of pollution on the environment – specifically the ocean and air. Various faculties put together workshops which worked around the subject to explain how pollution was a major contributor to the destruction of the ocean and air quality around us, the long term effects and also, how we can do our bit to help.

A number of expert guest speakers were invited to talk to students about various topics and how we can do our best to save these ecosystems. From Science to Art, Textiles, Drama and Dance, a whole range of subjects were covered and activities were created to make the day interactive and useful.

Year 8 students walked away with a better understanding of their position and how they can do their bit to help protect the environment.

Many thanks to all the teachers involved and a special thanks to Ms Hudson for organising the day.
