Training with Jamie Dwyer, Olympian hockey player

On Friday 13th January over 70 enthusiastic hockey players from WIS attended a hockey coaching session by Jamie Dwyer. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to train with Jamie who is regarded as one of the top players of the last decade. He has won 5 FIH World Hockey Player Awards in the last 8 years, scored the winning goal in the Athens Olympics and is still playing international hockey for Australia. The students were definitely dazzled by his stick skills and Miss Caldwell hopes they were inspired by his training regime. Please click here to view images.

Hong Kong Junior Netball U13 League
The first game of the season was a blast! We, the Wisanator Juniors played Australian International School, always a tough game to win. The game started badly, with nerves on both sides. There were lots of bad passes and dropped balls. It was only in the second quarter when our nerves settled that we started to play like a team. Our defence was working very well but our shooters were struggling to score. Then suddenly it all came together. Our centre and wings were getting the ball to our shooters who were scoring well. Unfortunately, AIS were also scoring well and by the start of the last quarter, the score was level. The game went backwards and forwards and with a few minutes to go to the final whistle, the Wisanator Juniors scored 10-9. The final whistle blew, we had won!

C Grade Junior Netball HKSSF
The C Grade netball teams played their first game of the season this week. The C1 team played exceptionally well together and achieved a very convincing win against South Island School. The C2 team improved their spacing considerably throughout the game and were just pipped at the final whistle.
