Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends of WIS,

Happy New Year of the dog to you all. It was good to see students and staff return with the benefit of a short rest. For most, the level of concentration and effort will begin to increase over the next few weeks as students focus on final examination preparations. Parents, remember the most important things you can provide at this stage are conversations which keep your child in balance – to balance work, rest and play in equal measure. Insisting on good sleep and eating routines are key to the basics of good well-being during examination periods. I am both impressed and grateful for the work of Ms Goodwin and Ms Kitson, equally their teams of tutors. Should you need any assistance with how to approach this period or have anything which concerns you, don’t hesitate to contact us.

The next five weeks seem short but sweet and there is plenty of fun to be part of. I wish the Dovera team well as the many hours of preparation come together on Saturday evening for a charity fashion show which promises to deliver. Judging by the quality of the programme I have seen this week, it will be an outstanding event. The Spring Fair is on 10 March and I am grateful for the many offers of support and donations which teams of parents are organising to make this an event to remember.

Finally, the IB Art Exhibition will be held between 21-29 March. Please save the dates and I look forward to seeing you at one of all of these events before Easter!

Our U20 football team have already been successful early on in the term. Congratulations to the team who have won their quarter finals 5-0 in the Jing Ying Championships (highest schoolboy football competition in HK). I look forward to the 18 March after such a convincing win already.

Yours,
Christopher Sammons
(Principal)
